Premium hands or one more advantage of project management
In early childhood we don’t know yet what is responsibility. We have neither a knowledge nor an experience, we are guided by undisguised emotions, not a cold discretion. And that’s fine.
Life kicks asses sometimes. From the very first minute you have knowledge and experience. Without any magic and tricks. Click To Tweet
A happy and carefree childhood should give us only bright and pleasant memories. The memories of important events and exciting first openings. With a smile on our faces we should recall the first liking, the first love and the first kiss. We should. But life is not always so perfect. Sometimes it kicks asses. And that’s fine too.
Sometimes unpleasant memories are breaking through the pleasant ones. We recall the first fear, the first falling, memories of mistakes that could be avoided now. So while lying in bed, driving on bus or car, taking bath or going to work, we get back to these unpleasant events and wish to turn the clock back. However as said by Indian philosopher Osho: “It’s too late to go back to all the right start, but still not too late to rush forward to finish things right”.
Indeed, we can’t turn the clock back, but for all our mistakes there is one excuse – we only live once. And do not upbraid yourself for mistakes. The most important thing to remember is what is the reason of the failure and avoid it in the future.
One more advantage of project-management.
Returning to my previous opinion that every project is a small life, imagine that from the very first minute of your life you have the knowledge which allows you to avoid most mistakes and the experience which helps you to make the right decisions. Without any magic and tricks. Not possible? In project management it is! Each of the next project begins with the knowledge and experience gained in the previous ones. How about this kind of advantage? You not just can live another small life, but also use everything you gained in previous ones. Isn’t this great? Judge for yourself. But as for me – it is phenomenal.
With every project project manager feels himself getting smarter, quicker, he makes decisions more quickly, confidently, and his authority is steadily growing. He is respected. At first project manager works on reputation, and then the reputation works on him. And he doesn’t need to worry that when the project will come to its close, all his achievements will go along with his brainchild. Not in project management!
All of what he achieved, by triumphant walk will accompany him on future projects. Even though all projects are unique, almost everything can be used, implemented, applied to another project. Slightly different, adapted to the new conditions and realities, but still, this experience is a premium hand in the language of poker.
