Dream team or what does team sports and IT projects have in common
You can call me Neanderthal, but I believe that every woman should be beautiful, as well as every man is ought to be strong. This is our nature, our essence.
Even though there are hundreds of other qualities nowadays, these two are primal signals to send in social relations.
Woman beauty, of course, is not restricted to some specific physical elements, shapes or sizes. This phenomenon is much deeper – beautiful eyes, tenderness, grace. It’s every little thing that takes your breath away. Just like strength for a man, which can be as physical, so material, spiritual or mental. And the most important thing for every woman is to feel comfortable and safe in arms of a man, who on the other hand, fascinated by her beauty is ready to do anything for her.
To keep fit and stay young, beautiful and seductive every woman should definitely go in for sports. Sports which at the same time can also be a reliable instrument to become stronger, quicker, smarter, and with a view to sportsmen salaries nowadays – wealthier, for every man. This simple and interesting activity is one of the most important and the most essential things in life. ‘Cause sport improves not only physical qualities, but also intellectual and mental.
For some people sport is a recreation, a game or even an entertainment. For others – it is a rigid system, based on strict discipline and adherence to rules. And all this in general, as for me, is very similar to IT, and team sports in particular – to projects.
One team – one goal.
In sport, every team has the goal – to prepare for the competition and reach the maximum result – victory over a rival. Just like in IT projects, but with the small difference – usually the rival of the project is not other team, but a specific task. In both cases team philosophy and psychology are similar, and the main criterion of success is the “Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno!” approach.
Unity, harmony and strength of team are tested in “battles”. With every manoeuvre we learn from each other, motivate each other and cheer each other up. We’re giving a hand when someone is falling and rejoice in success of each team-mate. Every team should work like that! And one day the realization that your team is the best team in the world will come. Just like it was with Sir Alex Ferguson, who once claimed that his team (Manchester United) – is the best. But to put the record straight, another coach Arsene Wenger (Arsenal FC) responded politely: “Everyone thinks they have the prettiest wife at home.”
I would get the hell outta here, but the people…
So the statement “The best team in the world” possibly sounds subjective, maybe even arrogant. But if team members really feel so, maybe it’s really so? This mean that they have reached the highest level of comfort, sincerity and interoperability. With that kind of “fuel” we can easily fly to the moon, have a great party there and then return back. With a bag of positive and unbelievable experiences.
I know many people who earn a lot, but not much joy it brings them. As well I know those who earn less than their “workshop” colleagues, but still who cannot take a risk to change company because of the team in which they feel like a duck takes to water. And when you hear the words: “I would get the hell outta here, but the people…”, you truly begin to understand the meaning of the phrase “Dream Team”.
